My most important job as your photographer is to tell the story of your wedding day while making you and your family and friends comfortable.
I believe the more comfortable you are, the better your pictures will be.
My typical client loves their family + friends over anything. Always, always. They value time spent together, and are able to appreciate the quieter moments in their relationships, that strung together, share a story of deep love.
They appreciate beautiful photography, art and design. Someone who lets me do what I do best, and trusts my many years of experience in the industry. Whether you are the most camera-shy person or the biggest ham, there is no cookie-cutter approach to every client.
I will get you comfortable in a way that is best for you.
As a Queer Mexican-American woman, I pride myself on being a welcoming + inclusive photographer + human being and embrace everyone. I am so happy you are here to view my work, stay as long as you’d like and please feel free to leave a comment or share any posts!
XO Carla Ten Eyck

March 16th may have just seemed like an ordinary Monday to some, but to our Connecticut wedding vendor community it was a super special and beautiful day. On this Monday, we gathered around one of ours in a tight, cozy group to help her and hers celebrate their 10 year wedding anniversary. Ever since I […]

This weekend during another snow storm (!!) I ventured out with some colleagues and friends for some much-needed family portraits. One of the downsides to being a photographer is that most of the time we don’t end up in our own pictures! While yes, we most likely have pretty amazing images of our kids, or […]

Even though my Mom physically left this world nine years ago today, the best parts of my her have stayed here. My Mom had a heart as big as the world and it shone brighter than the sun. And with that big, blazing heart of hers my Mom taught me that everyone is deserving of […]

There are so many types of weddings we can cover in our lifetime as photographers. Many fit within the comfortable confines of the expected: big wedding party, big celebration, ceremony with pomp and circumstance, family, friends, flowers, fanfare. All of it so wonderful, and meaningful and perfect. But then sometimes…. it’s only about the two […]

Sometimes my favorite part of my job is the times when I can just have fun and play with a bunch of vendors and try things out and do what we want! Maybe there is some new gear I want to break in, or maybe I want to just try to shake up my […]
