My most important job as your photographer is to tell the story of your wedding day while making you and your family and friends comfortable.
I believe the more comfortable you are, the better your pictures will be.
My typical client loves their family + friends over anything. Always, always. They value time spent together, and are able to appreciate the quieter moments in their relationships, that strung together, share a story of deep love.
They appreciate beautiful photography, art and design. Someone who lets me do what I do best, and trusts my many years of experience in the industry. Whether you are the most camera-shy person or the biggest ham, there is no cookie-cutter approach to every client.
I will get you comfortable in a way that is best for you.
As a Queer Mexican-American woman, I pride myself on being a welcoming + inclusive photographer + human being and embrace everyone. I am so happy you are here to view my work, stay as long as you’d like and please feel free to leave a comment or share any posts!
XO Carla Ten Eyck
After fifteen years of photographing weddings, I have come to the conclusion that intimate weddings are something super special. A small, curated group of the most meaningful members of your life, all there supporting your choice to join your life to your partners life, just gives me the feels. Each person is hand picked […]

Photographing a few of Ali’s friends led her to me, and being her wedding photographer – but it was their friends that set them up at a bar in Fort Lauderdale and brought them together! Despite being long distance, their love hold fast. No matter that it was a New York / Florida love, which […]

Phyllis and Dan’s wedding at the Mansion on Turner Hill in Ipswich MA was one for the books! The day started at the mansion and from the second I walked in, and took in all of the beautiful light filled spaces and rooms, I was beyond excited for the day to begin! Little did I […]
Is there anything more romantic than Stormy Skies a warm summer rain, cuddling with the one you love at home? Even if it’s outside at your home and you’re supposed to be having your engagement photos done and then all of a sudden a big Stormy Skies sweep in and it gets super dark and […]

You high-five yourself and enjoy! Sherry and Brian had […]
Welcome back for the second installment of this mountain luxury styled shoot at Lonesome Valley Resort in Cashiers, North Carolina! So I mentioned in my previous blog post about the first location we worked in at the little stream and waterfall (you can read that post HERE) that there was a boat house, and indeed […]

The last one I attended was at The Kimpton Seafire Resort on Grand Cayman, and it was simply amazing! The time before it was on Cayman at The Ritz Carlton […]
So often people say they love to discover new places and people and things, and while I couldn’t agree more, there is something romantic and challenging about rediscovering new spots in familiar places! Take Erin and Chris’ wedding at the Bee and Thistle Inn in Old Lyme CT. I have photographed intimate weddings here for […]

When a client hires me to photograph their Engagement session, I normally stress the fact that it’s not the best plan to make their session be about a treasure hunt of locations that you just tick off a long list. We all have locations as a couple that have levels of meaning for us, which […]
