My most important job as your photographer is to tell the story of your wedding day while making you and your family and friends comfortable.
I believe the more comfortable you are, the better your pictures will be.
My typical client loves their family + friends over anything. Always, always. They value time spent together, and are able to appreciate the quieter moments in their relationships, that strung together, share a story of deep love.
They appreciate beautiful photography, art and design. Someone who lets me do what I do best, and trusts my many years of experience in the industry. Whether you are the most camera-shy person or the biggest ham, there is no cookie-cutter approach to every client.
I will get you comfortable in a way that is best for you.
As a Queer Mexican-American woman, I pride myself on being a welcoming + inclusive photographer + human being and embrace everyone. I am so happy you are here to view my work, stay as long as you’d like and please feel free to leave a comment or share any posts!
XO Carla Ten Eyck

First stop: The ACTUAL Hog River! It meanders through my backyard, and is easily one of my favorite spots to photograph. So naturally Jenna, Jasmine and I ended up at the Hog River Brewery in Hartford CT, a hop skip and a scoot from my house. But let me back up a smidge here… so […]

As a wedding photographer and event photographer in Connecticut, I have the opportunity to see a lot of different wedding spots, from intimate wedding venues to massive ballrooms. I witness them in pre-action and in full action. After sixteen years photographing every type of wedding and event over the years in all of the places […]

The Chatfield Hollow Inn is FABULOUS! It is one of the dreamiest venues that I have ever seen: Yes folks it’s The Chatfield Hollow Inn, located in the windy roads of Killingworth CT. Katie and Jake’s wedding at Tyrone Farm in Pomfret CT was a stormy, rainy amazing day for the books! I can tell you honestly that I am not afraid of the rain, in fact, I embrace it and allow myself to be open to the beauty of it all, and I am often pleasantly […]

Lynn and Dan’s joyful, rustic Wright’s Mill Farm wedding in Canterbury CT was everything I had hoped it would be! I love that dance we all do as small business owners in the wedding and event industry; we field a call or email from a prospective client, we reach out, we meet. And then we […]

Finding Myself. Last night my 13 year old daughter Georgie and I went to see the newest Melissa McCarthy movie that’s out, Life of the Party. Jackson was at a party with friends and it was just us and we wanted to just snuggle and laugh. Plus we are both really big fans of Melissa […]

Just as the weather started acting as it should be- and thank heavens it did- I met up with Eddie + Anna for their engagement session at Harkness Park in Waterford CT. It’s also known as Eloia Mansion, or Harkness Memorial Park, or also one of my very favorite places to photograph, if I am […]
