Spring Maternity Session in Hartford

Every once in a while (not often enough, I say!) there are people that enter your life who are just wonderful, caring and special humans. They smile easy, are quick with a hug, radiate positive energy and leave you feeling better than you were before. Hope is one of those people for me, and I am so lucky to know her.

A few years back I photographed her wedding to Owen, and it was one of the most emotional days. Mostly because it’s a surreal thing for those of us who work in the wedding and events trenches to be there to serve one another on our wedding day, it’s a bit like the matrix! Hope is a very talented baker and owns A Little Imagination Cakes in West Hartford- her work is FANTASTIC, she can do literally what feels impossible with a cake, and create anything that you dream up. She has popped over and helped me run my daughter’s cupcake themed party and brought giant vats of frosting for the kids to use for their cupcake designing and showed them the best strategy, too! She never bats an eye to share her talents with me and my family, and for this I am forever grateful.

When I heard that Hope and Owen were expecting their first baby, I was so freaking HAPPY. Hope and I had become single unexpectedly at the same time, and when she found her true person, Owen, I was overjoyed for them both. They bring out the absolute best in one another, are quirky and funny and adorable and the more I spend time with Owen, the more I appreciate him and his humor. He is always quick with the facts and trivia and even today he taught me a little gem of a tech nugget for my phone!

Hope and Owen are easy with one another, kind and most of all goofy. He makes her laugh so hard she snorts, and that is honestly one of my favorite things- snort-laughing. That’s when you know you’re in love!

Thank you both for today, it was exactly what I needed! I can’t wait to meet your little baby so soon! XOXO

  1. Tim (Owen's Dad) says:

OMG, What a GORGEOUS album! You sure do know how to capture them. (Even granted good material to work with.)

You do with photography what Hope does with baking. Fantastic talent! (And as I am married to a sometime photo professional, I can spot talent.)

These photos are fabulous of my niece and my nephew in law. Beautiful subjects!
