My most important job as your photographer is to tell the story of your wedding day while making you and your family and friends comfortable.
I believe the more comfortable you are, the better your pictures will be.
My typical client loves their family + friends over anything. Always, always. They value time spent together, and are able to appreciate the quieter moments in their relationships, that strung together, share a story of deep love.
They appreciate beautiful photography, art and design. Someone who lets me do what I do best, and trusts my many years of experience in the industry. Whether you are the most camera-shy person or the biggest ham, there is no cookie-cutter approach to every client.
I will get you comfortable in a way that is best for you.
As a Queer Mexican-American woman, I pride myself on being a welcoming + inclusive photographer + human being and embrace everyone. I am so happy you are here to view my work, stay as long as you’d like and please feel free to leave a comment or share any posts!
XO Carla Ten Eyck
A fall wedding in Connecticut is one of those things that just about makes me sing inside! Add to it a couple in love, warm afternoon light, crisp fall air, gorgeous flowers and happy family + friends and I am just about over the moon excited! Elena + David epitomize my clients in the exact […]

Jessica + Chris’ wedding is literally right around the corner… THIS Saturday!! And I could not be more excited to see them both. They are filled, absolutely to the brim, with such light and love for one another, that just being around that feels like a nap in the late afternoon sun, on a hammock, […]
I cannot thank Jordan + Michael enough for trusting me with their engagement session! We did our session in a parking garage in Hartford, and I could NOT be happier with how it all turned out! When I meet with my clients, I like to explain my philosophy about what I think the engagement session […]

Chris + Tyler and their clan of crazy fun family and friends (some of which I consider my own Family) partied the day away with so much emotion, love, laughing and dancing at The New Haven Lawn Club in New Haven CT. I met Chris years before when I photographed his sister (and my now family […]
Matthew + Allison had the most stress-free, gorgeous wedding day at The Saybrook Point Inn and Spa in Old Saybrook CT. Joel and I had the best time with their outgoing wedding party- there were fun socks, man buns and Fireball to spare! Allison was the most laid-back and trusting bride and we pretty much […]

This blog post has been a long time coming! It was two years ago that Kristin + John tied the knot in Boston at one of the coolest venues I have worked at, The Artists for Humanity building in Boston. It is filled with character, gorgeous light and artwork for days and made just the […]
Last fall, I had the pleasure of photographing Galini and Brian at Hartford City Hall on a crisp fall day, when the sun was still warm in the sky and the leaves were just starting to flutter elegantly to the ground. You can see their engagement post HERE! That afternoon I got to see first […]

I met Robyn + Richie through a mutual friend who we both adore, shortly before their wedding. They were getting married in the Hamptons and I just so happened to have their day available! Boom! It was a done deal before it was a done deal. They trusted our friend Kathleen to know we would […]
One of the best things when photographing weddings locally, is working with an amazing team of fellow creative partners. When I get a wedding at The Bee + Thistle Inn, in Old Lyme CT, I almost squeal with delight (OK, so maybe I did actually squeal, because come on. It’s amazing there!) Not only is […]

I first met Kate years ago while shooting on Block Island- she had walked into my shot and I put my camera down to yell ‘HEY!’ (jokingly of course) and realized it was her and another CT photographer I knew! And on and on over the years, we ran into one another at venues, parks and […]
