hartford ct engagement session with carla ten eyck

Winter engagement sessions in my hometown of Hartford really make my heart skip a beat, and my session with Michaela and Artur was no exception! After being super patient and having to reschedule twice because of these crazy bomb cyclone storms we got (I mean, honestly, what the WHAT??) we all finally got a chance to spend some time together and see what our chemistry was like together! To set the scene: Michaela and I met at my studio when she was looking to book her wedding photographer and just clicked! Embrace the pun, people, please! She was so easy to talk to and connect with and when she left I was crossing my fingers that she and Artur would book me for their wedding. Flash forward to their snowy engagement session yesterday and I get to meet the handsome Artur. He is tall, and dashing and super in love. Also: he is super camera shy and hates having his picture taken! For those of you looking to get engaged or who are engaged, I cannot stress the important of doing an engagement session with your photographer! Not only do you get to take your photographer out for a spin, but honestly, I get to take you both out, too! I want to make sure our chemistry works and that we can work as a team where you trust me and allow yourself to open up and respond to what’s happening as yourself. But mostly I also want you to laugh at my jokes and just enjoy being with your love, because what’s better than that? Well let’s all start the slow clap for Artur because he loosened right up and just indulged Michaela and I and let himself have a great time! Big shout out to his sister Kasha who was their dog handler (hi Macy!) and was such a trooper! She came in the woods with us in some deep snow with her moccasins on! Get ready for some special treatment at their wedding, girl!

Michaela + Artur, thank you so much for trusting me and being so much fun! I honestly can’t wait for your wedding!! XOXOXO
