Two Brides Wed at Red Maple Vineyard with Carla Ten Eyck

Liz and Maya’s wedding at Red Maple Vineyard was perfection on every level: from the giddy + happy wedding party (not to mention FUNNY!) to the perfect weather, to the many many gorgeous places for portraits (wow wow wow!) and all wrapped up in their families and friends love and support. It was a day to be remembered! And guys: THERE WAS A SWING UNDER A HUGE GORGEOUS TREE! Yes, I totally had to yell that! Because… look! (you gotta scroll down) The vistas, the laughing, the sneaky spots to work in, the light, and Liz and Maya just being so sweet with one another, so kind and attentive to what the other needed. It melted my heart! Plus I got to experience this amazing day working side by side with my longtime friend + fellow creative, Geoff Boka, of The Light Mill Film Studios!

Liz and Maya were adamant about doing a first look and all of their wedding party and family portraits before their ceremony so they could enjoy every minute of their cocktail hour with their guests! This was the best idea, since everything was happening on site. This way, they could exchange vows, seal it with a kiss, high five at the end of the aisle and do whatever they wanted until they were announced in! These days the cocktail hour can be even more fun to plan and attend since it’s the only unstructured part of the reception. Not to mention, not one client who did a first look ever, ever regretted it! They were always so happy to see one another before and ease their pre-wedding jitters in a more private way, and have that moment ‘alone’ (because hi, I am there, and their videographers) If you are on the fence? Give it a good think- it’s a stress free way to start your entire wedding day experience and give you plenty of time for those delicious apps and more quality time with your guests!

Liz and Maya, thank you so much for trusting me with your day, it was so much FUN!!! XOXO
