Two Happy Brides Tie the Knot at Jonathan Edwards Winery

“Big giant fun party under a gorgeous tent at a vineyard.” “Big foodies.” “80% of those attending are close friends” “Loves the vibrancy of my pictures,” “Wants their photographer to be a part of the day and not just sit back and miss things.” These are all notes underlined by me that I jotted down during my first meeting with Lauren and Bridget for their Jonathan Edwards Winery wedding in North Stonington CT.

Ladies, I would have to say that according to my masterful note taking and photographs below, your wedding was exactly that: a big, giant, vibrant fun party under a gorgeous tent! This wedding could not have been planned more perfectly; nor a more perfect team could have been assembled—NAY! Your wedding, ladies, was absolute perfection! (I am laughing at how absurd I am because I said NAY but it’s still totally true).

I entered the suite at the Mystic Marriott and was greeted by the bridesman(s) (bridesmenfolk? bridesmen? I love how my computer is freaking out and keeps trying to auto correct me to BRIDESMAID. Again- NAY iMac, NAY). There were not one, but THREE bridesmenfolk gathered to welcome me to the suite, along with the trio of bridesmaids, all busily faffing about my beautiful brides, Bridget and Lauren. They got ready in the same suite but still avoided seeing one another until their first look later that afternoon.

We were a team from the very start as Gina, Kristina and Tayler helped coordinate and assist our every whim, making sure everything went as planned! Big shout out to the entire wedding party – Alex, Dan, Pasquale, and Caitlin, the official internets-ordained officiant!

There are two moments that stick out to me each wedding day: if you are wearing lipstick it’s the time when that lip color goes on and ties your whole look together, I freaking love it! Maybe it’s because I always loved coloring in the lips of faces on my coloring books as a kid? Who knows?? The other is when the flowers show up! My good friend Yumiko of Hana Floral is the master and always shows up with such a huge smile. Paired with her absolutely stunning work and it’s just the best! Her flowers for Bridget and Lauren’s wedding was out of this WORLD amazing, just keep scrolling and see how obsessed I was with all of the florals! Gorgeous, lush, textured, feminine and just so romantic. Go see for yourself!

I love encouraging my clients to write cards for one another and to read them after they are all dressed and ready. Whether there is a gift exchange or not – no matter- it’s about the words, everyone. The words you craft together for your bestie on that big day. What would you say to the person you were about to marry on the day of your wedding…? What would you want them to have ringing in their heads and hearts from you?

Despite the intense heat we found some slices of shade to while the afternoon away and create some fun photographs together. This wedding party was into it and I was loving it so much!

Jonathan Edwards was such a great spot for a wedding, I cannot tell you all how much I enjoyed it there and cannot wait to go back!

And then the deluge came and it was CRAZY and just added to the party!

Bridget and Lauren. What can I even say. I had such an amazing time seeing who you both are by the people you chose to surround yourself with. That old saying is so true and something that I don’t take lightly. We are the company we keep. That being said: you are both truly wonderful humans! Congratulations and I hope to see you both again!
