Photographing Hartford City Hall elopements are very quickly becoming one of my specialties and most favorite ways to work! As a native to the Hart Beat, as we affectionately call it here, I love showing others how beautiful the capital city truly is. The architecture is super diverse with a collection of historic beauties mixed in with newer gems like the Gold Building, shown behind Jill and Mike. One of my favorite pastimes is to track the light and reflections that appear when the sun and the Gold Building play. The shadows and reflections they cast are some of the most stunning, and I feel like I win a prize every time I catch them!

When Jill and Mike reached out to me to photograph their elopement in Hartford City Hall, I was thrilled. Little did they know they hit the Hartford jackpot with me! Am I the only photographer who knows Hartford well? Certainly not! But I dare say that I believe I love it more than anyone else in all the land, LOL. Honestly despite photographing here so much, I never get tired of seeing my beautiful hometown in a fresh, new way. Each time I photograph here I see something new, or catch the light in a way that I have never quite seen it before. It’s magical and fun, like a treasure hunt!

Hartford’s skyline is just so stunning. I can literally never get enough of the color and variety of it!

The Gold Building is just such an unusual design, I love incorporating it into the photographs so much.
