My most important job as your photographer is to tell the story of your wedding day while making you and your family and friends comfortable.
I believe the more comfortable you are, the better your pictures will be.
My typical client loves their family + friends over anything. Always, always. They value time spent together, and are able to appreciate the quieter moments in their relationships, that strung together, share a story of deep love.
They appreciate beautiful photography, art and design. Someone who lets me do what I do best, and trusts my many years of experience in the industry. Whether you are the most camera-shy person or the biggest ham, there is no cookie-cutter approach to every client.
I will get you comfortable in a way that is best for you.
As a Queer Mexican-American woman, I pride myself on being a welcoming + inclusive photographer + human being and embrace everyone. I am so happy you are here to view my work, stay as long as you’d like and please feel free to leave a comment or share any posts!
XO Carla Ten Eyck

During this last little heat wave here in Connecticut, one would think the last thing anyone would want to do is get all gussied up for their engagement session in a field at Heritage Homestead in the sun, with like, a bunch of animals. You would, however, be super wrong! Jill and Mike (and both […]

This has been the week of beautiful, heart stopping sessions for me and last week’s engagement session at Elizabeth Park in Hartford was no exception! When we were planning their engagement session, the few things that would make Colleen and Kean the happiest was some floral goodness… so as soon as they said that I […]

Smith Farm gardens in East Haddam, Connecticut is one of the most beautiful spaces for a wedding or event I have seen in a long time. That’s saying something considering our Nutmeg State is host to some truly charming venues! The grounds are meticulously manicured, and the white farm house on the property has […]

“Big giant fun party under a gorgeous tent at a vineyard.” “Big foodies.” “80% of those attending are close friends” “Loves the vibrancy of my pictures,” “Wants their photographer to be a part of the day and not just sit back and miss things.” These are all notes underlined by me that I jotted down […]

Erica and Brandon’s absolutely classical GORGEOUS wedding at The Delamar Hotel in Greenwich CT was a beautiful day filled with happy families and the world’s cutest dog, Lucy. Erica is one of the most photogenic people I have worked with, and that isn’t even because she looks so much like Anne Hathaway if she […]

How do I even begin to write this post for this wedding, and tell you all about every little and big meaningful thing here? This feels like a big task so I am going to just jump right in. I met Tammy way back in 2006, the now ‘old fashioned’ way. We met online. […]

I met Samm and Jelan when my son Jackson was asked to try out for the basketball team. Coach Tucker approached Jack (he was 6″1″ as a freshman) and made him feel wanted and included. Despite Jack not knowing anything about basketball he agreed to try out, and the rest is history. Confession time: I […]
