The Spa at Norwich Inn, Norwich CT was one of the most perfect of spots to host Courtney and Bernard’s wedding on the most perfect of September days. The temperature was just right, there was just the right amount of sun and cloud cover and warmth and I couldn’t have picked a better day if I tried! After hearing how Courtney and Bernard met and actually interacted; a murder mystery dinner party where Courtney stayed in character the entire time, not getting the hint that Bernard was interested in her, I was hooked! For someone so outgoing (me) I have always felt super shy at the thought of playing any kind of part in a murder mystery party, and have so much respect for people who can get into it! I wish I asked Courtney what part or character type she played – I keep thinking it was a southern belle type of character for some reason but she could have been a dirty cop from New York for all I know! Anywho, major props to Courtney for staying in character and to Bernard for following up and getting her to notice him later at their Friendsgiving!
All of that effort paid off for them both, and they welcomed their family and friends to The Spa at Norwich Inn for their wedding this past weekend.

I loved hearing what a close relationship Courtney and her family had to their hair stylist, Jay. He has literally been doing their hair since Courtney and her sister were little girls!
The light in the conservatory room was so pretty and allowed for some great candid portraits!
Our dapper and handsome groom, Bernard waits for his bride to walk through the door at their wedding at The Spa at Norwich Inn.
There was a sweet spot here with the light glowing warm and bright next to this majestic tree…
Then we ducked inside for some portraits in this really beautiful hallway at The Spa at Norwich Inn.
The fountain proved to be a fun spot for us to make some portraits. It was also the location for their ceremony!
When Bernard smiles, he is just lit from within.
After over 17 years of photographing weddings I had my FIRST mention of the zombie apocalypse during their wedding vows! I couldn’t stop laughing!
What a perfect size wedding!
Trout Lily Farm in Guilford CT did the florals and they were so lush and colorful! I loved how full Courtney’s bouquet was!
Give me a break with how adorable this friend group photo is! Also, did you all call one another to coordinate? I am such a fan of the pleated skirts!!
Yep. You are seeing this one right: this is Bernard here dressed up as the Fresh Prince of Bel Air! Another first for me!
Courtney and Bernard, I had so much fun with you both. Thank you for trusting me with your big day! XOXO
