Mayflower Inn and Spa Wedding

Being asked to create content for one of the most iconic Connecticut Inn’s, The esteemed Mayflower Inn and Spa, in picturesque Washington CT. Rumor has it that The Mayflower Inn was the inspiration for the Independence Inn, where Lorelai worked on the cult tv favorite Gilmore Girls. Additionally, The Well, NYC’s ‘buzziest’ wellness destination, according to Vogue, has opened up a spot in the Spa at the Mayflower Inn. Just the photo alone on Vogue showing the ‘The Biophilic whirlpool at The Well at Mayflower Inn’ that is surrounded by over 400 plants has my heart racing in an effort to pretend I am there, relaxing my racing heart, in that very whirlpool. …sigh… I got problems.

I was brought on board by event designer and planner Diana Chouinard of Jubilee Events, based in Cheshire CT. Diana’s vision for the Sperry sailcloth tent on the Mayflower Inn property was designed with an ‘ethereal mixed with modern elements’ style. It was clean, with pops of color to add a nice soft, feminine touch.

I felt the images would come alive a bit more if we added a couple in, and my real life amazing couple Jaine and Ken were happy to oblige! They make absolute magic in front of my camera, never ever complain about anything and are always up for anything I suggest! What more can I ask for? I wanted to highlight how beautiful fall is at The Mayflower for any future couples that are considering having their weddings there during the fall. You can’t go wrong in any season, it is just THAT picturesque there.

Don’t believe me? Check out the images below and see for yourself!

The stunning sailcloth tent, by none other than Sperry Tent, in the background.

Even the front porch makes an iconic backdrop!

The screened in side porch is one of my favorite spaces to photograph. It’s light, bright and beautiful. Not to mention that it is absolutely FILLED with plants, my very favorite.

GAHHHH these fall colors were making me crazy excited. Keep in mind this was past peak foliage season too!

Taking a stroll in Shakespeare’s Garden.

The cakes created by Callan of Sugar Therapy were GORGEOUS!

These acrylic escort table displays were not only super fancy and interesting to just look at, I loved the homage to certain shows! Let’s see if you can get them!

OOF. RIP Dylan McKay aka Luke Perry.

DAVID!

The draping really makes the space feel not as big, especially if you are having a more intimate event. The foliage draping down off the chandeliers also brings them to a more visably accessible spot and not appear to be so high up.

I love having a literal focal point on the plates. These delicate sweet pea florals were just the right touch here. They tie in that pop of color perfectly!

Many couples of mine have a reception outfit change and Jaine and Ken were no exception! Bringing the sparkle to the party!

I love seeing how the design of a table translates visually from the top down.

We got access to the spa and suuuuper quietly made our photographs. Which, hello, was hard. I was SO inspired. I have been literally every time I walk in here! The painting is the most precious pop of pink and balances all the white.

Fall in all of its glory in Washington CT

I LOVE how fun and goofy Jaine and Ken can be and today was no exception! We had so much fun creating content for The Mayflower Inn and kept it real at the same time. I won’t have it any other way!
