A winter wedding at The Branford House at Avery Point UCONN in Groton CT where the Winters get married? Yes PLEASE! Alex and Liane had a brisk winter day as the setting for their long awaited wedding. I met Liane years ago way back in 2012 for a photoshoot for Bliss Celebrations Magazine. She was stunning…and quirky as hell and I loved her! Over the years our photo shoots took us all over, even to Paris with her then boyfriend Alex Winter. They were such good sports, even when we got kicked out of the Eiffel Tower spot for not securing a permit for our shoot. (doh!) We had a blast creating stunning imagery for my second book The White Dress: Destinations (available to buy HERE) and Liane and Alex ended up on the cover!
We did do a super cold winter shoot in Vermont back in January 2013 on a frozen lake which was really great practice for their chilly winter wedding this December! Both Liane and Alex are pros and able to just dig deep and get ‘er done, and their wedding was no exception. Plus, it was their wedding so I believe they were just warmed up from the inside anyway! We started the morning at the Branford House with my work bestie and co-author Beth Chapman, as she did her day of dressing service. What an absolute treat this was to have Beth there to steam and iron and even fix stray buttons! She dressed Liane so that we could do a big reveal with her Mom and Stepdad Paul, and all of her bridesmaids. I cannot recommend her enough to have on your wedding day!

Beth Chapman, in action, super happy while she steams the veil.
I loved these precious name tags made for each bridesmaid, courtesy of Beth Chapman Styling.
Beth even took charge of helping to style, hang and transport the wedding gown and bridesmaids dresses for some detail shots!
Someone was super excited for her bridesmaid gift- a Coach clutch!
This handsome fella…he is such a gentleman. I can’t tell you all how much I adore this man. So kind, so sweet, caring, attentive and inclusive to literally everyone. Always has a smile on his face, too!
Liane’s bridesmaids were so gorgeous I was like ladies, please give me a BREAK! Their robes were so soft and pretty too, also a gift from Liane!
Back to giving me a break… Liane I just can’t!
I love this first look with her Mom andStepdad Paul.
At this point I am just emotionally drained from all of the joy and excitement! Seriously!!
Not a dress rehearsal: time for the real thing!!
Le Sigh.
How is this even real life????
Keep in mind it was about 19 degrees her! SO COLD! But not one complaint! I worked fast and stayed focused and everyone was ready to do what we needed to do and have some fun, too!
The true, real Liane!
Pardon me while I have e a small photo shoot right before the ceremony. The light was BANANAS. Also: Liane + Alex are BANANAS.
Filled with laughter, and also filled with emotion walking down the aisle with her Stepdad Paul.
Her sweet Momma was so emotional!
Liane and Alex, I am so honored to be your photographer for life, especially since you work with so many talented professionals. It was an honor to be there to bear witness to your love for one another while surrounded by your family and friends! Here’s to many years of happiness together XOXO
