So often people say they love to discover new places and people and things, and while I couldn’t agree more, there is something romantic and challenging about rediscovering new spots in familiar places! Take Erin and Chris’ wedding at the Bee and Thistle Inn in Old Lyme CT. I have photographed intimate weddings here for a while now, and while it is no longer a ‘new’ space for me, I get super excited when I book a wedding or event there with the Bee and Thistle Team! I know the grounds, the nooks within the Inn really well, at various times of the year- but I still find it a fun challenge to re-discover the space with each new couple and client that I am creating photographs with! Add to this the staff at The Bee and Thistle Inn, led by the incomparable and witty Tosh Perkins, master of the event world and calmer of all of the wedding day nerves for all of the people in all of the land! Can I just say on an aside how excited I am to be photographing Tosh’s wedding this summer?? Yep.
Erin and Chris had a delightful mix of guests from across the pond in England and here in the States, and mixed up some of the traditions like Chris wearing his fancy uniform from England! Complete with a sword cake cutting, and customized corn hole and the lilt of the British accents from the groom and the guests, and I was in complete and total heaven! Congrats Erin and Chris, your day was amazing! XO

I came across these and you are the photographer, Extraordinaire. You not only capture the bride and groom so well, but I have yet to see you snap a bad picture of me, for which I am grateful. I have been busy in different circles, still miss the Bee. But so glad that Tosh has command of the Old Lyme Inn now. I hope to work with her in the future.
Kind Regards, Carol
