Part two of my fun day in the sun with the talented team of Whim Events, Beth Chapman, DD Nickel, Catie Bane, and the Hive Events and Hartford Prints teams plus our Jimmmaaaaay of Vintage Cinema was a non-wedding themed day of lawn games, specialty cocktails, a dinner in the grass as the sun set and all of the laughs! I loved watching the fashion transformations that my bestie Beth Chapman of Beth Chapman Styling worked up as we all gathered around the fire for some s’mores and snuggling! That dress!! with the floral detailing was so super gorgy, and I loved having some fun with the hula hoops to really showcase the colors and textures! Not to mention the food from the 50’s! Can you say Jello Mold, people? I am not gonna lie, it’s one of my favorite things!
We wrapped up the day by having some fun with a vintage projector that Jimmaaay from Vintage Cinema brought along. We had our couple snuggle up and used the light to create some creative portraits and change things up visually! I had so much fun problem solving this and really just playing and doing something for me, which is something I highly recommend for photographers or creatives doing styled shoots! Shoot for the partners you are working with, make sure everyone gets the best imagery that represents their work- and then? PLAY! Create something new, fresh, different. Push your boundaries and limits with your work so that you can change and grow and try new approaches to seeing. If anything, maybe you learn that they way you do things works for you and stay with it, or you may just teach yourself a new way of seeing something fun and beautiful!
