Sara and Mike’s romantic fall Harkness Wedding on the Connecticut shoreline at Harkness Memorial Park was so much fun to photograph! They had a massive wedding party, and the mix and match approach with the bridesmaids dresses all in that sparkly champagne color left me feeling all excited- yes, color can do that to me! Well, maybe it’s the sparkles and glitter that sends me into orbit, let’s be honest! Add to this already romantic feeling the incomparable Jane from Just for You Florals and her full, lush designs; the cake? Oh my God the CAKE!! But a Dream Custom Cakes makes the most gorgeous cakes and this one just fit the entire wedding design so perfectly, don’t you agree? (scroll down to see!, you won’t be disappointed!)
Not to mention that Sarah and Mike and their community of friends and family felt more like a unified team than anything! Perhaps that is because Sara is an Olympic rower and Mike is her coach, and many guests and members of the wedding party were former or current teammates or training partners!

Now, if you’ve ever spent time in New England in the fall, then you have some understanding on what is so special about it! The warm glow of the sun wrapped up by the cool breeze once it sets. The warm colors found in Mother Nature, in food, and in a cozy pashmina.
Sara and Mike’s design was rich with the colors of fall. Champagne and marsala with hints of a more playful blush dressed their tables and florals and brought such a sophistication to the Eolia Mansion. Earthy garlands from Just For You Floral Design spilled over the sides of their dinner tables that were speckled with candlelight for a romantic touch. And nothing beats that perfectly natural garden at the house! A Thyme to Cook was on site with the freshest, most delectable menu, complete with a hot rocks station.”
