When I was younger I used to love playing dress up with my dolls. I would set up elaborate houses made of kleenex boxes and weird odds and ends that I would find to substitute for not having the Barbie Dream House! It was bootleg at best, but I had fun getting creative with what I had! Flash forward to today- and I pretty much am the same! Except… that I have friends in the industry who have access to some pretty pretty stuff, add models, sparkly stuff, a beautiful mansion and me and my camera and bada bing! You have a styled Great Gatsby shoot! Now me and my co-authors Beth Chapman of The White Dress by the Shore and Candice Coppola of Jubilee Events planned this for our coffee table book The White Dress: in color, inspirations for the modern bride (available at your local book seller or online at amazon.com!! eeeeeee!!!!) and we had so much fun on that mild-ish November afternoon doing what we do best!
See, I love styled shoots. I love the freedom to create based on what strikes my fancy. I love hearing what excites other people and trying to make their visions come to life too. It’s challenging work, despite what many people think. Weather never cooperates, things go wrong, but I love it and wouldn’t have it any other way!
Thank you to everyone on this very talented team, the day would not have been possible without you…
