Way back when, I posted a sneak peek of Leila and Matt’s wedding here on the C10 blog and just about now (finally!!) I am getting around to posting it! It was also featured on The Ruffled Blog (one of my favorites!) here and here!
I just have to say that I absolutely loved this wedding. It was simple, sweet, home-grown, thoughtful, colorful, beautiful, and real. To me, a relative outsider, it seemed a wonderful reflection of a grounded, fun, and family-oriented couple. Sara Code-Kroll shot this wedding with me (boysie, I heart her!)! Check out our work below!
You can’t go wrong with a J.Crew dress and J.Crew shoes.

All of these awesome details and the shots of Matt getting ready were taken by the lovely, the fabulous Sara.

This is a seriously, serious favorite of mine.
This one’s mine.
Ceremony time!
Right after the ceremony Matt and Leila grabbed their pup, Patsy, for a couple quick photos.
A little part of me just wanted to be this little girl running around the moat fishing for tadpoles and if I hadn’t been taking photos at the time, I would have been right there with her! Tadpoles are one of my secret loves, so much so that I contemplated draining the moat and taking them all home with me. Don’t worry, I didn’t but only because Sara may have been totally mad at me if I made her hold a gigantic bowl of tadpoles all the way back home to CT.
Leila and Matt’s attention to stunningly simple yet beautiful details really made for an exquisite space for a reception. Sara and I took sooo many photos of them it was very hard to narrow all of the details sown, here is a tiny little sample (combination of shots by Sara and me):

Sara’s lovely cake photo. This cake was designed by Antonia Davis of Flower upon Flour. She is amazing, you must check her out!
Oh and the DESSERTS!!!! (a collection of shots by me and Sara!)
Matt plays in a band called the Wagon Riders who just happened to be playing during the reception! They were super dope all night long – but what made me love them the most was when they played Dead Flowers by the Rolling Stones. That is one of my top three favorite songs in the world. I was taking photos and singing…let’s just say I was in Katie heaven.
As if this wedding could get any better, Leila and Matt agreed to meet up with Sara and I early the next morning to do a little, tiny day after session. You see, Leila spent a lot of her childhood here on the grounds of Grey Towers as it is a really special part of her family history. Part of the grounds which we didn’t get to go to on their actual wedding day was the waterfall. So we agreed to make the trek out their the morning after. Here it is:
The Where’s Waldo of day after wedding photos:
We grabbed Patsy for a couple additional shots.
oh, and here are the Grey Towers:
AMAZING! I could keep going and going with photos but I’ll stop here. Thank you Leila and Matt, your wedding was an amazing, amazing experience.
xo,
Katie
