This past Saturday Mike, Katie and I shot our gregarious bride of many faces… Miss Jaime and her now husband Mr. Chris Thurber! If there is a poster for a New England church it has GOT to be the First Congregational Church of Old Lyme… how pretty was this church?!! We capped off the day with a hoppin’ reception at the fabulous and newly renovated Saybrook Point Inn in Old Saybrook CT.
Here are our photographic adventures from the day, complete with commentary from yours truly…. of course!
So, I shoot the rings, and keep it really simple and clean. Especially since I am shooting with a D3 on loan from Nikon (my girl was out at Nikon summer camp getting a spa treatment) and man, was this shot CLEAN! Even Mike can’t rank on my sensor as he normally does!
Here is how I shot the above shot- throw these bad boys on a reflective table and make sure the background is nice and simple…add some nice light and VIOLA! Pink hair is optional. Don’t I look tall here?
Ashley was the flower girl and our back up shooter.
I can get a little obsessed with cleaning up areas for shots…. like here? I made the bed… but it was worth it! I would make my bed more often if I could get shots like this from it
See her face? One of maaaaaannnyyy that she made all day!
the light in their suite was super awesome… and the ladies of Dana Bartone? ROCKED OUT as usual!! I love them if you haven’t booked your hair or makeup yet, call them up!
a beautiful quiet moment right before…
the double dap! you gotta love a bride who daps a bridesmaid
The best part of this cutie? THERE WAS ANOTHER ONE JUST LIKE HIM!! He is an identical twin
for REAL!!!! These two?
It’s like I just stepped out of the New England Pretty Churches of America newsletter or something huh
Check out their smiles…. the colors…. I want to just hug this
These groomsmen were RIDICULOUS. Wait’ll you see Mike’s shots of them…right out of the Cool Groomsmen of the Year Catalog
Some of this is real. It was SO windy out so we could not go to the beach, no way, no how. And so? We bring the beach to them
BAM diddly doo
I believe these chandeliers are new…. and are super funkadelic
These chairs were made with the most soft leather or whatever they were made of…. mmmm…. I could have sat in them all night, but then that would have been not good! I love the warmth of this shot- her hair, the champagne, the light….(sigh)
Well Team Thurbs, it’s been real! Call me when you get back so I can do a post of all of your crazy funny faces!!!
Make sure to check out Katie Slater and Mike Romano’s shots as well, they TORE IT UP!!
