What feels like years ago on this rainy Wednesday… back in the heart of July my dream team of the best CT wedding vendors collaborated for a stunning spread for Southern New England Weddings Destinations magazine. It’s the first issue ever, and we were so honored to be asked to do our collective thang for them! For this shoot, Candice Coppola of Jubilee Events decided to shake things up the art direction and go super sleek, clean and modern… the opposite of all 0f what the market is saturated with these days! Not a diss, I happen to love the vintage look but also welcomed the opportunity to break out a bit and keep things super sleek.
Super sleek and modern to me equates to the stark white of Belle Mer in Newport Rhode Island. I just looooooooove shooting there. Like a lot a lot. If you are not familiar with it you will see why soon!
This was also, selfishly, a great opportunity for me to have my trusty assistant and husband Dave come with me for the shoot. He is so crafty and all around helpful I know our team loves having him along because he can help everybody! Another perk is giving him the perspective of the whole behind the scenes aspect of things. Before, all he would see is the finished product- the magazine spread. Nice and all, yes, but he really enjoys seeing how I got what I got and all of the challenges that pop up along the way!
From a photographer’s perspective, this team is honestly the best. Everyone does their part, and then steps back and says ‘C10, where should we set this up?’ Collectively we go around, seek the light, figure out any obstacles and shoot! It is such a high, I love it! To me, it is truly a representation of what is in my head, visually. A wedding is about 85% reactive- as a photographer you are reacting to your surroundings- but here I am creating it. Reacting to the obstacles, sure, but really and truly making what is in my head come to life… I am so, so lucky to have people that trust me like this….!!

love, love, love!
Dream team is right… this is gorgeous!
What a fun looking shoot!
WOW.
I love this shoot! I agree it is a totally different feel than your other shoots, but I love it! I really enjoyed all the details, fashion, hair & makeup, accessories, floral and design, I guess everything. My favorite are the behind the scene photos, it makes me feel like I was there. I would love to have my next head shot next to the deer head!
