So you think you want to be a big time published photographer and do all kinds of fun shoots that take you to all corners of the world, huh. Do you really? To be quite honest, I never really wanted all that. Being published was never really the end game for anything that motivated me on any of the shoots I coordinated with my great friends Candice Coppola of Jubilee Events, Beth Chapman of The White Dress by the Shore, Tony Palmieri of Datura A Modern Garden and the team of Dana Bartone & Company. Yeah right you say, well then why do it?
Well.
Good question! I did it, or well, I did many, many shoots- for the love of it. Purely. Completely. Yes. I am telling you the 100% God’s Honest Truth, or GHT!
I love socializing, I love coordinating fun things for people to do together that love to do the things I am coordinating! I love the pressure of having to be creative while everyone stands around watching! I love trusting my friends to do what they do best, and then I love that they trust me implicitly to do what I do.
Almost sounds too fun when I describe it like that! Well, it can be, but rest assured there are a LOT of things to take into consideration before hand. But that is another post altogether!!
One of the major big things I do know about these kinds of shoots is that I simply cannot, and will not do them alone! Not for the glory of having every single image be mine, no way, no how. Too much responsibility and after doing so many of these I know how to run a shoot!! So I had a super eager and talented crew of Miss Rebecca Hales, Miss Sara Code Kroll and Mr. Greg Lewis assembled for Team Ten Eyck! And that is just the photography aspect of it….
Big congrats to Sara, they chose four of her images for the spread!
So more than one entire year ago we assembled our team at the glorious Mayflower Inn and Spa in the rolling hills of CT one snowy morning. This was the first time I met my buddy Max LaManna, who we all know has gone on to do some amazing things! But he got his humble start here, with me and our awesome team!
Well, without further ado (and as if you haven’t looked down and seen this already….) Here is what came of our wintry shoot last December!! Our cover for New England Gala Weddings Magazine!!!

Miss Catie Bane of Dana Bartone got her groove on here with our model Emily…

For those of you that haven’t seen Tony in action…. well, try to. He is a genius!

Watching Candice’s vision of all of the tiniest little details all come together for one big glorious vision is so much fun…

How great a job did Catie do!!!

One of my favorite parts of the Mayflower Inn was their side porch… even though it was so cold out, it was warm, and had really great light!

Beth Chapman is the accessory QUEEN! She can pull so many looks together – and makes it look effortless!

This look on the left was the look that landed the cover! I am a big fan of the layered necklace look…

Look at me! Like I know what to fix or something

Check out Tony’s space age bouquet!

Greg Lewis and Sara workin some of those beautiful details!

Greg Lewis is tryin to edge me OUT!!

One of the most important parts of our shoot is having someone on documentary duty- this way we can share the behind the scenes of what we are working on, since you can’t blog any images you want to have published…! Rebecca Hales is my champion documentarian!
Here her shot shows one of the rooms we got to shoot in. Holy SMOKES it’s so beautiful, right? Well, the one caveat to shooting here is that we had to be quiet as mice! Those of you that have seen or heard me during a shoot know that this is virtually impossible…! But I had to restrain myself and abide by the rules…. I had to do this in Costa Rica with some horses this past November too, so I know I can do it! But it was very hard!

After surveying the scene, I chose my spot to shoot in….and everyone chips in to help, like Diana and Candice! They are SO great on shoots, and will do anything it takes to make the shot work.

One of the shots in our spread (we got ELEVEN pages, by the by!) was one of our outside snowy ones…. where we were fffffreeezing, but took one for the team! I’m so glad we did!

Here’s most of our crew (we miss you Catie Bane!!) after our last set up of the day!! Thank you everyone for all of your hard work, talent and unflagging energy for this shoot! It’s so great to see it all laid out for all to see!

Great stuff as always, and it looks like you guys had a ton of fun throughout the shoot! Congrats!
