OK- I am going to breathe a BIG sigh of relief and come out of the closet and admit: I DO FAMILY SHOOTS!!! Hah! Big confession, right? In my crazy mind, yes.
I have been asked if I do family shoots for a long time- and for a long time I said no. No, you say? Yes, I can say no to shooting, as painful as it was for me I did. The reason? I felt like people expected the ‘everyone look at the camera and say cheese’ family picture from me…which I don’t do, nor do I want to. I have to stay true to the vision I have for how I want us to photograph our families. And so? I do my thing and if it’s what you like, then give us a shout!!
So that being said I want to introduce to you something that I would love to implement at every shoot: the family favorite!
Every kid goes through their favorite phase, and it is subject to change year to year…it’s one of the things I love seeing my kids transition through and so I thought I would show my families how I see their kids’ favorite things…
Sophie loves her Gigi; Gus his DS and Alice loves her Fishy Blanket
Meet Gus and James, his bunny
Sophie was my BFF and loved hooking me up with shots throughout our session…she was soooooo much fun to photograph
and then there’s Alice, she was a force of nature!

little feet are even cuter than big feet
just sweet little girls playing in their room
getting the three of them together was a challenge I’m not gonna lie, but they did it for like 5 seconds and this is what we got!! their personalities jump out
LOVE this one, Gus is his Mom’s stunt double
This dress was Sophie’s aunt’s dress from when she was little- it is so Little House on the Prairie so you know I was loving me some Laura Ingalls Wilder attire
Gus and Mom
Little Alice and Mommy- and I totally wanna steal that outfit- it’s PINK AND BROWN PEOPLE!!
My Mom’s New Boyfriend the movie
These two just had a ball playing in their jammies
See what I mean? Sophie was my GIRL!
Daddy came home and threw the pig skin around with Gus…yes I said pig skin
We ended our shoot watching the Vin Diesel classic…The Pacifier, a big family favorite! They were riveted!!
Give us a shout if you would like to schedule a family session, we would love to meet your families!!

these are so dreamy, they make me want to be a kid all over again.
So very lovely. Can’t get over the softness and emotion in the tutus shot. Total Mary Cassat meets Degas.
I hear you, Carla. I love the idea of capturing kids and families being themselves. Real moments. Real faces. These are exactly that. Love them.
Carla – I love the pics! You captured each of them — remarkable. You must be so proud that I’m leaving you a message on your website (is this a blog?). This is huge for me. Again, I LOVE the pictures. You rock!
Truly some of your best work I have ever seen you do. So amazing!
Love it! I’d much rather chase kids around and snap a few photos of them being themselves than force poses.
Amazing stuff!
so naturel so lovely so much kids!
Carla! Holy Goodness…THANK YOU for your confession.
Now, I am going to go have kids- JUST so you can photograph them.
Love Love LOVE…the lighting, the favorites, everything.
Dude! These are wonderful…I love me some Murchie family and you totally captured them with these images. They are cute, sweet, hilarious, and crazy all wrapped up into one…just like…Stew.
Very cute – I love how pacified they are at the end
