I love that the rest of the world is becoming aware of the seemingly limitless talents of the woman I fell in love with. Carla summed it up perfectly when she described Katie as scared and nervous but none the less took this challenge head-on. That’s my girl: setting goals, accepting challenges and daring herself to do more and go further each time. I am her number one fan, but judging from the folks she surrounds herself with and/or are inspired by her, it’s a battle for number two! I speak for all of the Slater Boys when I say we are proud of her, we love her and she’s our hero. We love her with our Martin Mull (inside joke, she’ll get it!) At this point, only the world record for the Iditarod is safe because she hates cold weather!!!

Congratulations, Sunshine, I’m proud of you and I love you.

noah – you are one amaxing guy, congrats on your performance and your grant. amazing. now, carla and dod, you guys really pulled off a huge suprise. I am pretty on top of my surprise game and rarely get caught off guard, but you guys blew me out of the water. additionally, you managed to capture super special photos of a really important personal milestone and accomplishment and I appreciate that right down to the tippity top of my toes. thank you, from the bottom of my heart, thank you. <3
