Styled Shoot at Lonesome Valley in Cashiers, North Carolina | Part Two

Lonesome Valley Cashiers North Carolina Wedding Photography Carla Ten Eyck

Welcome back for the second installment of this mountain luxury styled shoot at Lonesome Valley Resort in Cashiers, North Carolina! So I mentioned in my previous blog post about the first location we worked in at the little stream and waterfall (you can read that post HERE) that there was a boat house, and indeed there was! The first thing I saw when scouting the resort for new and different locations to work in was this swim platform. It called my name long and low and it echoed across the valley and I had no choice but to heed its call! The caveat: how to get the models there with little to no risk to the one gown that we had to work with for the entirety of the shoot? All hail Sarah Jennings, our fearless hostess at Lonesome Valley, as she canoed them over to the platform and Beth Chapman, of Beth Chapman Styling and also my co-author of our first book, The White Dress: in color, wedding inspiration for the modern bride – boated on over and get the models all dressed and styled on the platform! Talk about making a situation work! The fact that the team did not hesitate one second on my choice of location and just instantly switched into ‘How can we make this work’ mode, speaks volumes to the level of trust we have established over the years! Let me know, do you think it was worth the risk??

From a feature on the luxury wedding blog, Reverie Gallery: “Today’s luxury mountain wedding inspiration at the Lonesome Valley Resort in North Carolina completely changes the meaning of a mountain affair. This team of wedding industry professionals are an absolute dream team!

Bliss Wedding & Event Design brought all the beauty together along with gorgeous blooms for days by Heather Lily from Mayesh Wholesale, stunning paper design by Two Paper Dolls, the perfect rental items by All Occasions, darling stamped forks from For Such A Time Designs, and wait until you see the linens from La Tavola!

Where your jaw will truly drop is when you see the floral printed gown from Gustavo Cadile picked by stylist Beth Chapman who paired this stunner of a dress with a dapper look for the groom by TJ Bailey and bowties from Handsome Menswear. I adore that hair and makeup artist Vera Joyce created two different bridal beauty looks that could easily go from ceremony to reception.

Let’s talk about that incredibly darling welcome bag which happens to come from one of our favorite sites, the awesome duo that is the Wedding Chicks! There is nothing better then as a guest receiving such a thoughtful gift, especially when it includes some favorite local goodies!

To top of this wildly beautiful inspiration is one beautiful cake and dessert bar by Artista Cakes and the models from Ursula Wiedmann Models, well they are truly the icing on the cake because from start to finish they make this styled shoot feel so real.

From Beth Chapman Styling, The focal point of the shoot was the floral gown by designer Gustavo Cadile. I first saw the gown at bridal market in New York and when I learned of the venue for the shoot, I knew that it was the perfect choice! It is romantic, yet modern, and has just enough of the southern flair that the shoot was to exude.”
