Mike and I spent this past SUPER hot Sunday in the fabulous New York City photographing our June clients Callie and Niels. They are some of the most photogenic people I have photographed, and made our jobs seem like a breeze! Which was good since it was so hot and all….
We started off a their amazing apartment- which had the most incredible patio I have seen in a New York City apartment! This mural was painted specifically for them, so of course we had to start there!
One of my favorite things to do on shoots is to use the natives, wherever we are and work them into the frame. The best part about the city is there never seems to be a shortage of people to use!
Coming out of the subway I saw this and made a play for an absolutely shameless self portrait of Mike and I. Yes I am vain!
The downside to so many people in New York? SO MANY PEOPLE! I am actually doing a separate post on how I navigated this particular problem! This area was nuts- we were at the Brooklyn Botanical Gardens
This area has been burned into my visual memory and I couldn’t for the life of me place how or why….UNTIL… I popped in my Netflix’d Rescue Me Season 4 disk and watched the opening credits! LOVE this area!!
Mike gets mad props for taking his time here! I got my shot, or so I thought, and was all ready to move on when Mr. Romano said wait and wanted to work it some more…and then I looked down and was like

I couldn’t decide which of the two I liked more, and so here they both are
So I see these stars, right? And the light? Right? And then I shoot it, right? And THEN, I get home, edit and am like DANG this looks like Wonder Woman!!!!! Right!?
