I am so excited to finally share the amazing wedding of Jessica and Pierre in Wood’s Hole Cape Cod this past fall!!! For a variety of reasons… a long time ago, when I was still getting my business started I had the honor of photographing Jessica’s brother John and Beth’s wedding on the beach in Rhode Island. I vividly remember meeting Jessica while Beth was getting ready. She was so stunning! I told her: ‘I hope you call me when you get married!’ She was super young then so it was kind of funny for me to say something like that and then years later… here we are! This is the third family wedding I have photographed and it was so nice to see everyone happily married years later!

Jessica and Pierre’s wedding was so intimate and personal and the setting couldn’t have been more perfect! I had my trusty team of Mike Romano as my loyal and awesome second shooter and super sweet Jasmine on third camera for the day!

These florals were to die for… so romantic and soft and pretty! The luggage on the right was Jessica’s grandparent’s luggage they used on their honeymoon!

french quarter wedding in new orleans

I’m the last lady to the party here, but as we all like to convince ourselves… better late than never! In this case, this is most certainly true, as the party I am late to is the blogging frenzy that is my dear friend Miss Nikki Nicole’s!! wedding! Nikki and Rob were married on THE craziest, most dramatic day right smack in the middle of Royal Street in New Orleans’ French Quarter this past March. Nikki’s second shooter Ty and I ran point but our good friends (who are also photographers) Jane and Amanda couldn’t help jumping in throughout the day!

And yes, it rained. Boy did it! The whole wedding day was nuts, torrential downpour deluxe! All us ladies sprang into action securing plan B shooting locations and ponchos and happy non-rain thoughts for our friend. As luck would have it, after Nikki and Rob got ready, they had a break in the rain just in time for their first look. Of course, seconds after the rain came down while we ducked into the courtyard while plotting our next move…

As luck would have it, the rain gave way right in the nick of time for their street side wedding ceremony, literally smack in the middle of Royal Street in the French Quarter! The best and hardest things were dealing with the random real people who kept muscling their way in to get a better view! I laid down the law and told them to beat it, I had a job to do!

Nikki did a great job with everything and the whole day went off without a hitch! My favorite moments were when Nikki got to the altar she took a look around and hooted and hollered, and then I loved their first kiss ok and THEN the second line parade was ah-MAY-zing!!!! …and then I loved at the end of the reception when it was only lit by candle light and I got a moment by the fountain with Nikki and Rob…. sigh… I loooooove those images!!!!!!!

ok ok… nerd side note here maybe one of my favorite parts of the day was this was my first wedding with my brand spankin’ new Nikon D4!! and it was aaawwweeesssooommeeeeeee

At this point here was when I realized that I was shooting one of my closest friends weddings. And I had a little moment behind my camera and I didn’t tell anyone and tried to play it off. Because then I would have been a sobbing mess, and well… Jimmmaaayyy was there filming it all!! He already has some pretty stellar footage of me opening the champagne earlier… it was nearly tragic! For me and my new camera!

Nikki and Rob. Thank you both so much for having me at your wedding, and trusting me with shooting it. It is the ultimate honor to be asked by another photographer, this was not lost on me! Dave and I had so much fun!! We love you guys!

Team building and being free to be creative… what a dream job I have!! I know, how annoying to hear, yay for me. I can see your eyes rolling. But really, be a pal and be happy that this old gal gets a chance to break in a new camera (my Nikon D4) while in my sweet bathing suit (you know you wish you could see- ok check Instagram these ladies love shooting me in my suit! Lucky me!)

But on a realer note? Realer? More real? I love that I get these opportunities to play within my hectic shooting schedule these past few years. Yes, it is work technically….but there is so much room for taking ideas and watching them grow and change into something even bigger and better than we had even thought they could be! So much fun, and so rewarding. Many, many thanks to my talented friends for an amazing trip!

vintage wedding at le chateau, south salem ny

Last spring I had the pleasure of shooting this beautiful wedding at Le Chateau in South Salem NY with my second for the day, Miss Cheryl Cronin! We had a lot of laughs during Jaclyn and Paul’s vintage themed wedding- and danced while we shot all night to the sounds of The Next Step band, they were so much fun to work with!! We started the day with Jaclyn at her parents place- can you not get enough of her stunning feather shrug?? I believe she found that little gem on Etsy!

My super sweet clients Frank and Christina were married on a crisp October day- filled with love and lots of laughter. Their reception was at the Candlewood Inn in Brookfield CT- so for portraits we bopped all around Brookfield and stopped at a corn field (thanks Tom!) and watched the guys wrassle around like puppies in the corn! My second for the day was the super sweet Cheryl Cronin, and as always, we laughed all day long!

bushnell memorial new year’s eve wedding

It seems like every New Year’s Eve I have had a wedding since I can remember… and I wouldn’t have it any other way! What a great way to ring in the New Year- with a joyous couple, newly married and surrounded by their family and friends! It was also nice to shoot in a Hartford institution like The Bushnell Memorial on such a spectacular night! Hartford hosts First Night so there are revelers and people enjoying the arts and culture all over the city. We had a foggy night which lent itself to making Elysa and Russell’s wedding night even more amazing! I had the super talented and also C10 Associate shooter Miss Julie Morawski on deck to second shoot with me, and our sweet Lynne Reznick was our third!

To top the night off Elysa’s brothers got them a hot dog cart, and not any old hot dog cart… but a Woody’s hot dog cart!!!

bliss magazine cover shoot

One of my favorite parts of my job is when I get to mix my love of taking pictures with working with some of the most talented people in the whole universe and create a shoot for a magazine! To even one up myself here, it’s even more fun- and challenging- to do this shoot for a magazine cover! With the editors there! And everyone watching! And listening to me breathe and sweat! As much fun as most people think they are, editorial shoots are hard work. Yes, I know, I am literally handed beautiful people and details to photograph… but. It’s still challenging! Since I am a competitive person I delight in the thrill of getting it right for all I am shooting for- the editors especially- as we troubleshoot the cover shot- where the text can go, how to frame everything up to fit for a square magazine layout…and for all of the vendors styling and creating the whole set, so to speak. Everyone wants to walk away with shots that truly represent their work in the best possible way. Yeah, no pressure…!

All in all, this is where I feel I truly thrive- on the pressure and challenge and trouble shooting that an editorial shoot presents. It’s like me against my own brain, and I freaking LOVE it! Come on and meet our team for the day!

seaside autumn wedding

On a super perfect autumn day in September (my favorite month) Mike and I had to pleasure of photographing the wedding of Kristen and Brian at The Water’s Edge in Westbrook CT. We had it all- perfect weather and a fun-loving couple! What else could we have asked for? Well if I told you this was the day that we got that CRAZY crazy CRAAAZY sunset, well… then let me tell you, we scored like crazy!

Kristen’s beautiful dress was by Cymbaline Paris!

Kristen was over the MOON when she saw her flowers from the amazing Fleur de Lys!

Kristen was so full of emotion all day- I loved her reaction during the ring exchange!

What a way to walk down the aisle!!!

Nothing better than a spontaneous photo bomber!!!!

So we get to one of my favorite little secret beaches and it’s all foggy and grey and I’m like, yeah I’m feeling it…. such beautiful soft light, it was working out super swell for us….!

These lovely bridesmaids dresses were by Bill Levkoff!

I was loving these jetty shots too, Mike and I had a great time working it up despite the beach heckler at the house right next to it!

This little slice of orange was so pretty, I was all content. Little did I know…

THIS is what lay waiting for us back at the venue!! I ran all over to find them and we hoofed it down to the beach at a full run!! What a site, yes..

I can hear harps and crazy music in my brain it was so awesome!!!!

easton’s beach newport rhode island wedding

On the same day as the royal wedding of Kate and Wills I found myself on the beaches of Newport, Rhode Island photographing the wedding of my sweet clients Heather and Chris. Some regular blog peepers may remember their snowy winter engagement shoot in Watch Hill last winter, you can check it out HERE. They are both full of love and happiness and their wedding really showed it! My team for the day was my sweet friend and amazing photographer Miss Crista Acosta and my super sleuth Jazzy on third camera!

Heather was pretty crafty and made this great bouquet of vintage brooches to carry!

I clearly loved her front door, as you can see!

This is Heather’s Dad’s car and this is how they showed up to the ceremony… in style!!
