Eyes up, heart open
Before leaving Yale for good and making their big move out west to the rolling mountains of Colorado, Christina and Nick wanted to say goodbye to their home and most importantly Yale before heading out! So we meandered around the campus to places that meant something to them both- dorms, secret hallways, libraries, halls… it was so much fun to explore this beautiful old campus, riddled with history and stories, but most importantly their memories with each other. I love hearing how people met, when they knew that they were ‘the one’… I am a romantic at heart and Read More
Allie and Eric took me on a tour of their Park Slope neighborhood of Brooklyn and the nearby section of Carroll Gardens. We spent the day together talking, sharing, and learning about each other. The pinnacle of the day for me was when I learned that their grandmothers did a little matchmaking and introduced them to each other. We all had a chuckle as we coined the term “G-Harmony”, a testament to our similar sense of humors. Take a look at the pictures and check out how much genuine chemistry they have together! Read More
These two. What do I even say??? Ashley and Ray (or Ray Ray as I got to calling him) are like photography family to me and my studio. A few years back I photographed Ashley’s sister Jessica’s wedding and got to know their family and just fall in love with them then. They were so warm and open and loving with me, and made me feel like one of their own right from the start! They were giving with their hugs and love and support over the years, and this will never, ever leave me. Now I am pretty Read More
One of my favorite things about my job (aside from having wonderful clients to work with, of course!) is getting to travel. Now, I am sure you all think immediately about exotic trips, or Paris or places far far away. Which are awesome, no doubt and most certainly a job perk that I enjoy…. but what I am talking about is getting to travel in my sweet little state of Connecticut! There are so many cute, quintessential little New England towns right here in this little state (I mean, we are the third smallest state in the US… a Read More
kathleen and tanner are pretty much models. with a tolerance for chilly weather that i admire. we planned for a warm sun kissed april shoot, because you know, it’s spring. well, this year spring has been taking it’s time reaching us, so we made do with a super breezy, frigid ocean afternoon. and i have to admit, i loved how i got to play with kathleen’s gorgeous hair in the wind. if panteen is hiring, they need to hire this girl!
congrats to you both. i am soooooooo excited to see you guys this summer on the farm!
There are people who you meet and just know they are meant to be together, even if you don’t know them well, you just… know. Megan and Ante are those people for me! From the moment we first met (and pretty much laughed so easily the whole time…!) to the beautiful afternoon we spent together doing their engagement session at Elizabeth Park in Hartford … I just could feel their love and respect for each other so tangibly. I love seeing this, and makes me look forward to their wedding even more!!
I grew up going to Elizabeth Park Read More
When I met Lisa and Jay for their engagement session in Mystic I was so excited. See Jay here is like the Mayor of Mystic. And while I thought I knew Mystic pretty well after spending years going down there Jay showed me areas of Mystic I just didn’t even know about! We started at my new favorite place for Happy Hour- The Oyster Club right on Water Street. They have $1 oysters! ONE DOLLAR! I am a huge oyster lover so this was (obviously) where we would end up after our shoot was done for some oysters and Read More
jenna and john stole my heart this day. we floated amongst the lily pads with the wind in our hair and went where the day took us. in my opinion, there is no better way to spend an afternoon. jenna and john have hearts of gold, and are deep down good to their bones. not to mention adorable together, with lots of charm and spark to keep things exciting. their wonderful and patient friend AJ, was my boat buddy, guiding us where we needed to go and even gave amazing direction. i think i may hire him to Read More
Melissa and Jeff and I and their super cute doggies Jack and George!!!!! Yes! You heard me correctly, those are indeed my kids names!!…. had the most fun on a brisk fall afternoon a few weeks back doing our engagement session in Shelton at the Historical Society! The air was crisp and sharp, and the light was soft and pretty! There were nooks and crannies to be found, and these two were so natural and comfortable in front of the camera! I can’t wait for their wedding this June at Harkness!!
Like. Please. Melissa, you are killing it!
Meet Danielle and Casey, a Raw Photo Design couple. I was honored when they asked me to photograph their wedding in place of Eric Langlois, who we tragically lost this summer. We headed down to Lighthouse Point Park in New Haven for their engagement session, here are some of my favorites from the afternoon!
Big thanks to my friends, Anthony DeCarlo and Laura DeCarlo (ironically no relation) for their help.
