Eyes up, heart open
My most important job as your photographer is to tell the story of your wedding day while making you and your family and friends comfortable.
I believe the more comfortable you are, the better your pictures will be. My typical client is a lover of photography, art and design. They are someone who has to have beautiful photographs. Someone who lets me do what I do best, and trusts my many years of experience in the industry. Whether you are the most camera-shy person or the biggest ham, there is no cookie-cutter approach to every client. I will get you comfortable in a way that is best for you.
Here you can view my most recent weddings, events and other fun sessions. Grab a cup of coffee and get comfortable, I have been happily blogging since 2006, so there is all of the content to do a deep dive and see if I am the right fit for you and your event.
I pride myself on being a welcoming and inclusive photographer and human being and embrace everyone. I am so happy you are here to view my work, stay as long as you’d like and please feel free to leave a comment or share any posts! XO Carla Ten Eyck
This amazing backyard tented wedding in Glastonbury CT was perfect in so many ways, the weather was hand picked from my list of perfect weather for weddings and there was a PUPPY SURPRISE! Let’s start with the weather… The last time I had been at their home, where the wedding was, it was for their engagement session, you can see it HERE. Unfortunately it down poured like crazy, so I wasn’t able to see their yard in its full glory, although I still created some romantic imagery with them both. Their wedding day made up for that in spades! Read More

This classic Branford House wedding with the crazy talented ladies that are Jubilee Events was so filled with beauty and amazing-ness I had to do a two-part blog post! Because, I simply could NOT fit all of the details and emotion into one post without feeling like I watered down the whole experience! I officially met Kara and Victor at their rehearsal dinner pre-shoot that we did, and the wind was soft and the light was just right. They had been living the long distance dream for a while and this was the only quiet time they had with Read More
After fifteen years of photographing weddings, I have come to the conclusion that intimate weddings are something super special. A small, curated group of the most meaningful members of your life, all there supporting your choice to join your life to your partners life, just gives me the feels. Each person is hand picked to be there, each person has a unique and special connection to the couple. There is nothing quite like it! Peter and Tori had such a powerful and loving connection with one another before the wedding and especially on the wedding day. When they Read More
A big perk of my job as a professional photographer is the education and travel portion of my job. Three times a year I attend / speak or photograph at the renowned Engage Luxury Business Summit, that takes place in high end resorts all over the world! It is a place to learn, network and connect with like-minded wedding industry professionals at the top of their game. My favorite part of this is really getting to know these creative partners as people, not just for the work and accolades that they have achieved. One of my favorite people Read More
Photographing a few of Ali’s friends led her to me, and being her wedding photographer – but it was their friends that set them up at a bar in Fort Lauderdale and brought them together! Once Ali and Adam realized how happy they were when they were together the deal was done, and despite Adam saying he would never leave the Sunshine State again, here he is, back in New York! Love will do that to you…! Read More

Is there anything more romantic than Stormy Skies a warm summer rain, cuddling with the one you love at home? Even if it’s outside at your home and you’re supposed to be having your engagement photos done and then all of a sudden a big Stormy Skies sweep in and it gets super dark and stormy and maybe even a little bit scary (the cats were hiding!) You bet it still is! If there is one thing you should know about me, it’s that I am not afraid of photographing my couples in the rain. I find that rain, Read More

Welcome back for the second installment of this mountain luxury styled shoot at Lonesome Valley Resort in Cashiers, North Carolina! So I mentioned in my previous blog post about the first location we worked in at the little stream and waterfall (you can read that post HERE) that there was a boat house, and indeed there was! The first thing I saw when scouting the resort for new and different locations to work in was this swim platform. It called my name long and low and it echoed across the valley and I had no choice but to heed Read More
