Eyes up, heart open
My most important job as your photographer is to tell the story of your wedding day while making you and your family and friends comfortable.
I believe the more comfortable you are, the better your pictures will be. My typical client is a lover of photography, art and design. They are someone who has to have beautiful photographs. Someone who lets me do what I do best, and trusts my many years of experience in the industry. Whether you are the most camera-shy person or the biggest ham, there is no cookie-cutter approach to every client. I will get you comfortable in a way that is best for you.
Here you can view my most recent weddings, events and other fun sessions. Grab a cup of coffee and get comfortable, I have been happily blogging since 2006, so there is all of the content to do a deep dive and see if I am the right fit for you and your event.
I pride myself on being a welcoming and inclusive photographer and human being and embrace everyone. I am so happy you are here to view my work, stay as long as you’d like and please feel free to leave a comment or share any posts! XO Carla Ten Eyck
Lynn and Dan had their engagement session at Northwest Park in Windsor CT this past fall. Now one thing you should know about me is that autumn in New England is my absolute favorite time of year. No question! Pair that preference with the ability to cram as many photo sessions in the fall as I could possibly fit and I am one happy photographer!
When booking engagement sessions with my clients, many times the location is left up to me. When there is a spot that is emotionally relevant to each of you, that is an amazing thing, Read More
Just as the weather started acting as it should be- and thank heavens it did- I met up with Eddie + Anna for their engagement session at Harkness Park in Waterford CT. It’s also known as Eloia Mansion, or Harkness Memorial Park, or also one of my very favorite places to photograph, if I am being 100% honest!
When we discussed where we possibly wanted to do their engagement session they said they love to be in nature. Perfect! Well… except for the fact that most of the ‘nature’ in CT by May had still not entirely joined the Read More
Katya and Neal’s epic wedding at Saltwater Farm Vineyard in Stonington CT yesterday was heaven-sent. There were cherubic adorable little flower girls and ring bearers floating around angelically all day, and an abundance of romantic and ethereal details that set the tone for their wedding day! I have known Katya forever- since she was in grade school, and I coached her and my cousin Stephanie in soccer when they were little, and I have loved watching her grow into the amazing young woman that she is today. We got to bond recently when Stephanie married Greg in Mexico and Read More
Christina and Ryan’s Greek meets Irish wedding at the InterContinental Boston (in, you guessed it, Boston) was filled with color and family and THAT GOWN! and just all of the things that make doing what I do as a photographer soul-fulfilling. Christina and Ryan’s obvious love for their families and the hustle and bustle of a busy wedding day kept the day moving at full speed ahead, and just made the day fly by! I knew the ceremony would be emotional, as both Ryan and Christina have lost their fathers, and I know not having your Dad there to Read More
Here is a quick peek from yesterday’s CRAZY FUN wedding of Mia + Brian at The Riverview in Simsbury, CT. There were tears, and so many funny antics by the kids AND the adults, I couldn’t stop laughing and saying out loud ‘is this really happening’? It was such a pleasure being welcomed back into the Siracusa Family Fold – I photographed Melissa + Mike’s wedding ages ago- but it felt like yesterday since I saw them all! Their ability to just be who they are, loud and proud just attracts me to them all, and I laugh right Read More
Jessie and Zack’s wedding at Tyrone Farm in Pomfret CT was the stuff that my dreams are made of! Romantic, beautiful, with every little touch point thought of… I was in pure heaven from the moment that I showed up on property until I left! Jessie did her research, and was relentless in her quest to assemble a group of creatives who spoke to her vision for her wedding to Zack. I would have to say, she done GOOD! The second those flowers – crafted by the uber talented ladies of Stems Floral Design- showed up… I just about Read More
Real talk time! I’ve been struggling with social media these past few years and it’s affect on our perception of what’s actually real in people’s lives. Love it or hate it, the reality is that with my job, I have to partake in it, and for the most part, I actually really enjoy how I choose to. I am honest, I show the good and the bad, I post ridiculous selfies that most people would probably delete, because HELLO THIS IS WHAT I ACTUALLY LOOK LIKE! And, with no sarcasm here, I really do love myself.
I am not Read More
Annie and Chris’ wedding at The Bee and Thistle Inn, in Old Lyme CT was one of the most emotional weddings I have ever photographed. Maybe it was the connection I made with Annie before, or maybe it was watching the love and adoration that Annie and Chris had for one another during their engagement session in New Haven that made me even more excited for their wedding? I’m not entirely sure, but what I do know is how openly Annie and Chris showed their love and adoration for one another, every smile, every tear, all of it. Read More
Yesterday’s wedding at the Harold Pratt House in New York was SO MUCH FUN!! I adore Zack and Polly (they were my rainy day Hartford engagement session that I posted on my insta story about!) and just knew after their engagement session with me in the rain and cold, that we would be fine on their wedding day, no matter what! I couldn’t have been more right! There was 100% trust in me from the start of the day until I left, and I felt free to create some magic with them with zero worry or pressure. Here is Read More
Creative collaborations with industry friends is one of my favorite favorite things to do. I can’t stress that enough! We are given a blank slate, essentially, and then a design direction, and then the green light flashes and we all retreat into our collective creative corners and return to the ring with our vision and just let it all fly! At the same time, we are open to trusting our partners and tweaking things even more once we arrive and the light changes or something doesn’t work or even better something works way better than we thought and then Read More
