lace factory wedding | sophie + geof

My sweet friends Sophie and Geof got married this summer, and it was simply beautiful. Surrounded by their favorite friends and family members, they exchanged thoughtful vows, laughed with each other, played in the sunset, and danced the night away. It was a truly perfect day, and I am so glad that I was able to watch it all happen. My darling friend Ali helped me capture the day, and here are some of my very favorites.
Sophie + Geof, Thank you for having us along, it was so, so lovely. Enjoy each other, and all of your adventures to come!Read More

loomis chaffee wedding | corie + pat

My friends Corie + Pat got married on a sunny day in June, and I could not have been any more excited to document their day. I fell in love with these guys this winter when I photographed their engagement shoot. Ever since then, I’ve been dreaming of their sweet wedding. Photographing these two was a dream. They just fit together, perfectly. They make each other laugh, hold each other just right, and snuggle like nobody’s business. My dear friend Jasmine was there by my side to photograph them, and we looked certifiably insane, hootin’ and hollerin’ at every little move these cuties Read More

tralee farm wedding | beth + shane

Beth + Shane. You guys. This day was just the most beautiful day ever. It started with the loveliest  drive to New York with my darling friend Ali, listening to hippie music and drinking strong coffee. Little did we know we were about to drive right into FARM LAND! We were met by some angry looking cows, but kept on trucking to meet our new friends, Beth and Shane.
We were greeted with such love, that we knew this day would be something special. And it was. From the love-infused ceremony, to the thoughtful, handcrafted details, and daisies, to the giant Read More

what took so long

what took so long
by: julia pistell
“Maybe there isn’t enough music,” I said to Greg a couple weeks before the wedding, as we were finally deciding on what would happen during our ceremony. “Music is important. What if there isn’t enough?”
“There’s enough music, Julia,” Greg said, knowing that he would surprise me with a song during the ceremony; guessing correctly that I would be surprising him with a song during the reception; planning a little flashmob Muppets-song-and-dance with our improv group; having just emailed our friends to play bluegrass and sing opera as part of our vows; pretending that Read More

kate + chad + gatsby

“There are all types of love in this world, but never the same love twice.” – F. Scott Fitzgerald, The Great Gatsby
All it takes is just one look at these two and it’s clear that Kate and Chad found a very sweet kind of  love.  When Chad catches a glimpse of his lovely little lady, his eyes sparkle like there is no tomorrow. And Kate sparkles back. They are so cute.
Surrounded by their loving friends and family, Kate and Chad wed on a sunny April day, and then partied into the night. Gatsby style.

pat + corie engagement shoot

More often than not, I find myself photographing people that I want to be friends with. Like real-life, let’s share a beer and laugh our butts off  friends.  The second I met Pat and Corie, I knew that they would be so much fun. And then, Corie said “There’s a tree that I really like over there,” and I knew we were kindred spirits.
Pat, Corie, Stephanie and I spent the day hanging out at Loomis Chaffee, a special spot to Corie and then wrapped up our adventure at The Half Door, enjoying that beer that I spoke about earlier.Read More

nitin + jenn | part 2

Guys. This whole day could not have been any more beautiful. Truly. Jenn + Nitin’s Western Ceremony was overflowing with loveliness. Beauty poured out of every little square inch of the Branford house.
The handmade flower pots made with love by Jenn’s sweet mom. The stunning dress that Jenn’s insanely talented sister designed just for her. The wildflowers. The light. And once again, the love.
Nitin + Jenn. You guys are really something. And I can’t wait to eat Pierogi together.

nitin + jenn | part one

From the very first moment I spoke with Nitin and Jenn, I knew I’d love them forever. Their wedding was sure to be something special. And it was.  Their *PoKoIndian event was filled with culture, beauty, colors, family, and most of all, LOVE.
Jazzy, Ryan , and I started the day photographing what might be the most beautiful ceremony I’ve ever seen. The Baraat. As I stood and watched their friends and family dancing, I was overcome with joy, swept away by the music and the energy.  Thinking about it still gives me the goosebumps and I want to go back.
